LGBTQ restaurants. Horror movies. Off-kilter television. Underdog cities. Donuts.

I’ve been a journalist since 1996, and have been writing for The New York Times since 2004. I cover culture with an emphasis on film, theater, TV and LGBTQ topics, and also food and travel. DINING OUT, my book about how gay restaurants changed America, is in bookstores. I live in New York City but am originally and proudly from Cleveland.
